A SPECIAL open weekend will be held at The Lodge at Burcot Grange from 10am to 4pm tomorrow and Sunday, December 3.

The tenth Cinnamon Care Collection Home, at 23 Greenhill, Burcot, boasts beautifully furnished rooms, four lounges, dining areas, kitchens, a reception, coffee shop, hairdressing and beauty salon and offices.

There are also lifestyle kitchens where residents can make a cup of tea and snacks.

It was officially opened on Tuesday and offers residential care, dementia care, respite breaks and day care.

After the ribbon was cut, there was a performance by classical music quartet Highly Strung and food and drink to celebrate the occasion.

The Lodge cost £4.5million to build and will bring up to 60 new jobs to add to the 60 people already employed at the original Burcot Grange which has been open for 25 years.

Home admissions advisor Sian Williams said: “The way The Lodge has been designed means it can cater for a variety of residents depending on their levels of independence and it is well-equipped for patients living with dementia.”

The first floor will be dedicated to people living with dementia and more of the home can be allocated to that type of care, depending on demand.

Each week there will be a variety of activities, such as coffee mornings, pub quizzes. poetry readings, exercise sessions, social evenings and current affairs discussions. The Lodge is also always looking to recruit new staff.
