A SPARKLING Bromsgrove couple will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary on Thursday, March 18.
John and Betty Wolsey live together in Cloverdale, Stoke Prior.
They have lived in the same house – from when it was built – for 58 years after moving to the town from Smethwick.
John, 87, worked at the Bayer site in Stoke Prior before his retirement and Betty, 91, worked in the offices at Harris Brush before she retired.
They have two children, Robert and Jane, and three grandchildren – Jonathan, Ellen and Michael.
When asked about the secret of a long marriage, John said: “Doing as you’re told.”
Betty, on the other hand, added: “It’s about forgiving one another and patience!”
Daughter-in-law Tracey Wolsey said: “The pair have coped really well during the pandemic and are looking forward to having a proper celebration with family once it is safe to do so as they will not be able to have any party on the day.”
