‘The public need protecting’
PC Jack Harper said “Any incident where a person is injured by a dangerous dog is one too many.
“We have a responsibility to protect the public and safeguard our communities.
“This case exemplifies the harm that can be caused, and how by working with partners offenders can be brought to justice.
“We continue to work closely with various partners on educating people on the risks posed by some dogs.
“There is a responsibility on all of us to ensure that we do all we can to keep people safe through responsible dog ownership, to ultimately reduce the risk posed to the public.”
