South Birmingham Animal House Rescue in need of help

THE ANIMAL House Rescue in South Birmingham is desperately looking for foster homes for unwanted, abandoned and abused animals.

The rescue centre has been caring for creatures for the past 25 years after starting small and growing.

It already has foster homes in Bromsgrove and Rubery but needs more.

One animal which was assisted was Elsa who was found dumped on a nature reserve.

She was unable to lift her head and was dehydrated, covered in sores and emaciated to within hours of her life.

Her story was posted on Facebook and went viral with people all over the world logging on daily to check on her progress.

This raised the profile of the charity and it was inundated with cases which filled the centre to breaking point.

Foster carers coming forward helped ease the pressure and enable the staff to assess animals in a ‘home’ environment so an appropriate ‘furever’ home can be found.

Lin Reeves, who runs the Animal House Rescue Centre, said: “Foster homes are one of the most important sides to the rescue and at the moment we are desperate for people to come forward and join our team of foster mums and dads as we have many animals waiting to come into rescue.

“All these ‘fur-babies’ deserve a chance.”

Anyone interested in offering a foster home can call Sarah on 07764 523686 or Carol after 6pm on 07985 744314.
