MORE than 700 runners took part and completed this year’s Timberhonger 10k and Children’s Challenge fun run, held as part of Bromsgrove Carnival.

Winning the men’s race was James Marshall from Birmingham Running and Triathlon (BRAT) club, finishing the course in 33mins 17sec.

Caroline Warrington from Bromsgrove and Redditch Athletics Club took the women’s title with a time of 40mins, 1sec.

The Children’s Challenge winners were Oscar Carpenter and Poppy Wells (under eights), Joe Westwood and Kara-Rose Welborn (eight to ten-year-olds) and Matthew Bevins and Hannah Dale (11 to 14s).

All profits from the weekend are shared between local charities the Primrose Hospice, Libby Mae’s Little Angels, and the Midland Air Ambulance.

Organisers are hoping to have raised more than £5,000 this year.
