THERE is something for everyone at Bromsgrove’s Artrix next month with live music, rock tributes, cinema classics and even some stand-up comedy, writes Maya Dabrowska.
Milton Jones will start the month on February 3, bringing his one-liners, story-telling and rapid-fire wit to the audience.
On February 5, there will be a truly unique event with ‘REM X Buster Keaton’s Sherlock Jr’ – this is a magical fusion of silent film and live music as the cult classic is reimagined with an REM inspired soundrack.
‘Roy G Hemmings TSOP & Motown’ will be at the venue on February 6 – timeless hits bound to have the audience in awe and up and dancing in their seats.
For fans of dance will be in their element on February 9 when ‘ROH Live: Woolf Works’ brings Royal Ballet live through elegant choreography and surreal storytelling.
Next up will be a flurry of tribute acts, including ‘A Head Full of Coldplay’ on February 12, ‘Eclipse – The Pink Floyd Experience’ on February 13 and ‘Let’s Hear it for the Girls’ on February 14. The latter is a mass tribute to iconic female artists.
John Hindle’s ‘King of the Road Tour’ will come to the venue at on February 20 and, for rock fans, there is ‘Mothership: Led Zeppelin’ on February 21.
The final music events of the month will take viewers back in time – ‘ABBA Gold’ on February 27 and That Britpop Band a day later, on February 28.
In between will be popular Bromsgrove comedian Fat Theo – after his debut full-length show The Journeyman last year, he returns with ‘The Contender’ on February 26. He will be supported by Danny Strachan, Katie Slater, and introducing Suzanne Lane.
Most shows start at 7.30pm.
