SNOW LATEST - Weather warnings remain for Bromsgrove, Rubery and south Birmingham

Bromsgrove Editorial 9th Mar, 2023   0

THE MET Office’s yellow weather warning for snow remains in place for Bromsgrove, Rubery and south Birmingham after a night of chaos on the roads.

Traffic Bromsgrove reported treacherous conditions for drivers in several areas, including in Rubery, Lickey, Marlbrook and on the M5.

Motorists encountering steep roads struggled with some abandoning their vehicles and choosing to walk home.

According to weather experts, snow is expected to fall in Bromsgrove until late morning and into the afternoon in Rubery, Northfield, Longbridge and other areas.

It is then expected to turn to sleet but that can bring other issues with ice and slush on the roads.

The wintry showers are forecast to continue throughout today and into tomorrow (Friday).

Those who need to travel – whether it be driving or on public transport – are urged to allow plenty of time for their journeys.

Gritters are expected to be out again to clear all the main routes.
