Bromsgrove Editorial 8th Feb, 2019   0

SIX more performers have booked their places in the semi-finals of this year’s Search for a Star at the Austin Sports and Social Club.

Last Saturday Sadie-Marie from Worcester, Sean Duggan from Weoley Castle and Hayley Red from Sutton Coldfield made it through.

Sadie-Marie sang Sweet Child of Mine, Think Twice and Don’t Rain on my Parade while Sean mixed covers with his own creations and Hayley Red performed I Just Want to Make Love to You and the Jackson 5’s Shake Your Body Down.

The week before Holly May Coleman, Matthew Long from Shirley and Emily Badger reached the semis.

Comic singer David Atkins who performed Ernie the Milkman, the Laughing Policeman and Tweetie Pie had the crowd in stitches but just missed out.

The winner will scoop £2,000, the runner-up £1,000, the third place £500 and fourth £250. All the finalists will each get £100 and semi-finalists £50.

The next show will be tomorrow at 8pm. Tickets are £4 on the door.

For more information on the competition or about entering, call organiser Tony Maslen on 0121 457 9308.
