THE theft of a vehicle in Bournheath has prompted an appeal from authorities as they reassure the community they are ‘doing all that they can’ to trace those responsible.
The silver Land Rover Defender was stolen from an address on Dordale Road, Bournheath on Wednesday (April 26) at about 3.55pm.
Police said a white car was seen parked up on Dordale Road around the time of the theft.
Authorities have also offered information about how the perpetrators of these crimes work, stating the offenders will target specific vehicles based on demand and value and will target vehicle owners to look for ways to exploit their security and get to their keys.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “The most common methods used by thieves are to follow victims’ home or ‘cruise’ around residential areas looking for opportunities.
“If you think you are being followed or see any suspicious vehicles, take the registration number and report it to the police.”
Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who has CCTV/Dashcam should contact West Mercia Police via their website www.westmercia.police.uk or via 101.
