BABIES from Bromsgrove and South Birmingham came together for a special ‘Showtime’ sensathon event to raise awareness and funds for the charity Tommy’s, writes Layla Chiha.
Parents dressed their tots in ‘Hollywood glamour’ glitzy costumes and there was plenty of jazz hand waving at the event at Bournheath Village Community Centre on Monday. A similar event was held at Barnt Green Scout Centre yesterday.
It is hoped, following the Showtime events nationwide, £500,000 will be raised for the charity which researches early infant loss, still birth and miscarriage.
Karen Byrne-Smith, who runs Baby Sensory sessions in Birmingham South and Bromsgrove and Toddler Sense classes in south Birmingham with Jenni Cox, said: “The work of Tommy’s charity is amazing as it affects so many people.
“It is great to know that support and advice is readily available and research is paramount in finding causes and solutions for the future.”
