A TWELVE-year-old Northfield junior rider has made it to the British Riding Club (BRC) National Championships for show jumping after stealing the show.
Amber Austin, who has been riding since the age of five, won at the Arena 13 Winter Show Jumping Qualifier with her horse Jim Bob.
The pair had only been riding with each other for the past year but ‘clicked’ the moment they met.
Gemma, Amber’s mother, said: “I am very proud, and I love watching her do what she loves.
“I am not fussed about Amber winning in the slightest as long as she loves it – she could have come last, and I know she would not mind.”
Gemma said hard work had got Amber where she is today, adding ‘come rain, wind or shine her daughter was out riding in the yard’ which is based in Wythall.
Amber will be back in the saddle in April when she will be jumping in the national arena.
