A COMEDY about seven women rugby players who reflect on their troubled lives and relationships as they try to save their club is the latest offering from Rubery Drama Group.
Muddy Cows by John Godber will be staged at Beacon Church Centre, Whetty Lane, from October 24 to 26 with performances at 7.30pm each evening.
The ladies in the cast had never touched a rugby ball in their lives before rehearsals for this play, but they have thrown themselves into it with gusto and enthusiasm and have had a fabulous time putting everything together for the audience.
The group said it was enormously grateful for The Ladies Rugby team from The Old Halesowenians for all their help with the play which will be the first to be directed by group stalwart Roy Watton.
In the professional run of the show, it left all the physical rugby playing to the imagination through the reflections of the ladies in the dressing room.
But Rubery Drama Group has done some ‘converting’ of its own and used some artistic licence and innovation which it hopes as an audience you enjoy.
Tickets for the show are £8 (£7 concessions). Call 0121 453 8733 or 0121 445 2323 to reserve tickets which can then be picked up on the door.
