Sam Ammar launches her general election campaign

Bromsgrove Editorial 21st Jun, 2024   0

BROMSGROVE champion Sam Ammar has officially launched her general election campaign after announcing her plans to stand as an Independent candidate in the nation’s upcoming July vote.

The district councillor hopes to win the town over and represent Bromsgrove in parliament following her recent exit from the Labour party after she accused its regional office of ‘anti-democratic behaviour’.

Sam Ammar suggests Labour have ‘parachuted in an unknown candidate from Ealing without local party selection or endorsement’. Sam Ammar is referring to Labour’s prospective parliamentary candidate for Bromsgrove, former Member of European Parliament for the West Midlands – Neena Gill.

Her pledges to the people of Bromsgrove, if successful in her parliamentary rise, are to attract direct foreign and national investment into the town and implement a parliament policy digital voting platform to keep her informed on residents’ views around legislation going through the House of Commons.

The current Bromsgrove District Council chairman also wants to assess the greenbelt, oppose tax on private education, increase services in the Princess of Wales Hospital to support an out of hours GP surgery and oppose trade deals which undercut British farmers.

Lastly, she pledges to put forward a private members bill for the implementation of a government backed interest free 20-year home insulation loan for households if elected.

Sam, whose fluent in Arabic has an educational background which includes a BA in Tourism Business Management from Birmingham University, an MSc in Global Marketing from Liverpool University, and a Digital Diploma from Ireland.

As a successful entrepreneur, she founded a marketing company in 2016 that has executed projects for multinational brands in 12 countries.
