HUNDREDS turned out to the annual Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service in Rubery.

The service of Remembrance was led by Rev Claire Turner from St Chad’s Church and took place outside the Rubery Memorial Club.

During the poignant proceedings, the names of those from Rubery and Rednal who had made the ultimate sacrifice were read out.

After that, there was a parade down New Road and 15 minutes of prayers, hymns and music were held inside St Chad’s Church for those who wanted to attend.

Refreshments were also served at the Rubery Memorial Club.

Paul Roberts, the Chair of the Rubery and Rednal Royal British Legion, said: “This year we had the Army Cadets taking part in the parade, as well as the Air Cadets we have every year.

“It was an absolutely brilliant turnout – more than last year.

“It seems to be getting bigger every single year which is important as we need to continue to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom.”
