Rubery community groups urged to apply for Jack's Supermarket's next round of funding

COMMUNITY groups in Rubery are being encouraged to apply to Jack’s Supermarket’s next round of funding.

Usually the discount supermarket chooses four local charities to donate £250 to, but after such a testing year, it decided to donate £400 to every charity that applied to its support scheme.

This includes 68 community groups local to its 12 stores, amounting to more than £27,000.

The cash is generated from the sale of plastic bags in store.

Ryan Bird, store manager of Jack’s Rubery, said: “The Jack’s Supports scheme has been running for a while now and it’s great to see how many local organisations have benefited from our donations.

“It’s wonderful we have been able to provide support for all organisations who have applied this year as it’s important to everyone at Jack’s to be able to give back to the local community who have always been so kind to us.

“We strongly recommend anyone who’s considering applying to definitely get involved.”
