STAFF from a Rubery care home have taken on a momentous hiking challenge to raise vital funds for Alzheimers reasearch.

The team at Oaks Care Home are proud to announce they’ve raised £2,000 for the cause after taking on the Trek26 event.

Trek26 asks participants to take on a challenging 26-mile hike. The event took place on Saturday May 17 and saw attendees from all walks of life come together to support the important cause.

The Oaks team trained rigorously for several weeks leading up to the event, ensuring they were physically prepared for the demanding walk.

Through their dedication and fundraising efforts, The Oaks team managed to raise two thousand pounds, which will go towards funding vital research, support services, and care for those affected by Alzheimer’s.

“We are incredibly proud of our team’s commitment and determination in raising funds for Alzheimer’s research,” said Lianne Sturmey home manager.

“Alzheimer’s is a disease that affects millions of people worldwide, and it is our mission to support efforts to find a cure and provide the best possible care for those affected.”

The Oaks would like to express its gratitude to all the sponsors, donors, and supporters who contributed to the success of their fundraising efforts.
