A NORTHFIELD hospital has been recognised as one of the top performing centre’s in the country under a new framework.
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH) achieved the highest possible score (a Level 1 rating) under the new NHS Oversight Framework 2025/26 and ranked 14th overall in England.
A Level 1 rating demonstrates strong performance and a lower need for external support, with the new framework aiming to provide a way to consistently assess trusts across areas including quality, patient care, finance and sustainability.
This national recognition comes alongside other achievements. ROH consistently records among the best patient experience scores in the NHS and patients here generally wait less time for elective procedures than at many other hospitals.
Matthew Hartland, Chief Executive, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for everyone at ROH. It reflects the dedication of our staff and the quality of care we deliver every day.
“While the whole NHS continues to face challenges, this rating shows we are in a strong position to keep improving. Most importantly, it means patients can be confident in choosing ROH for their care.”
