THE CROWDS turned out in force on Saturday to celebrate the return of Romstock after two years.

Hundreds braved the rain to watch a host of bands, including Ange and David DRC, Bhangra Smash-Up, Strictly Abba, Colin Halls Gypsy Blood, The Killerstream Weekend Anthems Band, Paul Shakespeare as Elvis, The Skastuds, Dan Budd tribute to Robbie Williams and Supernova.

Organisers said this year’s event was a throwback to the very first one ten years ago – a field full of people enjoying themselves.

They added Skastuds was the best Ska band it had ever had at the festival.

Robbie Williams tribute Dan Budd, also from Stoke, was joined on stage by Bromsgrove’s Stacy Green and they sang duets on Relight My Fire and Kids, as well as an impromptu rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody – that involved Romsley Scouts.

Towards the end of the evening, the sun came out and a giant full rainbow appeared over the field.

The event was put on by Romsley Parish Council and Social Eats was praised for the way it organised the bar and food.

The organisers also thanked all the stewards and marshals who helped out on the day.
