SEVERAL roads in Bromsgrove district are impassable because of heavy rain and flooding.
The main A38 Eastern Bypass is closed between New Road and Austin Road, as is the A38 outside Morrisons.
The A448 Kidderminster Road in Bromsgrove is now completely impassable, especially by Fox Lane and through Chaddesley Corbett.
The A448 between Bromsgrove and Mustow Green is flooded.
Perryfields Road in Bromsgrove is closed due to flooding.
The Bromsgrove Road by the former Bluebird Toffee Factory is shut.
Finstall Road in Bromsgrove and Madeley Road in Fairfield where it dips are also closed
Other roads closed include Lillycroft Road and Wheeley Road.
There is very heavy traffic around the south of Bromsgrove towards Droitwich due to flooding elsewhere.
Worcestershire Highways is urging people to avoid the area if they can.
Dordale Road, Belbroughton, Icknield Street, Alvechurch – from Storridge Lane to Weatheroak Hill and Grimpitts Lane, Wythall.
One commuter who was travelling from Bromsgrove to Droitwich said: “The main road was closed by Morrisons and I had to take a back street route but everywhere was gridlocked.
“This is the worst I have ever seen it – it was absolute chaos.”
Worcestershire Highways are urging drivers not to enter floodwaters as there is the risk of cars becoming stranded.
Bus services disrupted
Flooding on the A38 at Wychbold has led to delays on the 144 and the 144A.
There is also severe disruption on the 42 and 43 between Bromsgrove and Redditch.
