THE BROTHER of Libby Mae completed a 26-mile cycle last Monday (April 26) in memory of his sister on what would have been her eighth birthday.
Riley Sharratt, six, raised £587 for Libby Mae’s Little Angels through the cycle which was done in stages from April 1.
The cash will go towards the Little Angels BIG Appeal which aims to find state-of-the-art incubators for neonatal units across the Midlands.
The annual Go Pink 4 Libby Day, also held on Monday, was supported worldwide with photographs coming in from Hong Kong, Malaysia and Trinidad.
Football and soapstars also wore pink to back the charity.
Riley, who attends Catshill First School, walked 26 laps of Ash Drive last year and wanted to go one better this year with the 26 miles.
Charlotte Sharratt, who started the charity with husband Richard, said: “Riley also wanted his ride to be in memory of his Uncle Vish, Neonatal Consultant, friend and the charity’s ambassador who sadly lost his life to Covid-19 in April 2020.”
