REVEALED - The dates and times for this year's Bromsgrove Santa Sleigh

Bromsgrove Editorial 22nd Nov, 2023   0

THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED Bromsgrove Santa Sleigh routes for this year have been officially announced by the new custodians of the tradition.

We reported last month how – after the Round Table was unable to continue operating the sleigh – the annual festive spectacle was in jeopardy.

But, thanks to Bromsgrove Rovers AFC, Bromsgrove Logistics and the town’s Ladies’ Circle stepping in, this year’s and future runs will continue.

The new organisers thanked the Bromsgrove Round Table for all their hard work over the years and said they were proud to be taking it on.

Santa’s routes across the district

Father Christmas will start his tour of the district at The Queen’s Head Farmers’ Market from 9am next Saturday, December 2, before heading to Love Aston Fields’ Christmas Party next Sunday, December 3.

On December 4, the man in the big red suit will go to Harwood Park and Rutherford Road and then, on December 5, to Greyfriars, Willow Road, Carol Avenue and Sidemoor.

Santa’s sleigh will tour Deansway, Hilltop and Breakback Road on December 6, then Stoke Prior and Breme Park on December 7 and it will be at Asda from 9am on December 9 and in Stoke Heath later that day.

On December 10, Father Christmas heads to Charford, then The Oakalls and Parklands on December 16 and Perryfields, Orchard Road, Beech Road and Churchfields on December 17.

Santa will journey out to Lickey End and Catshill on December 18, Townsend Avenue and Norton Farm on December 19 and to Blackwood Road, Fordhouse, Bant Mill and Forelands on December 20.

St Nicholas will journey around Pennine Road, Lea Park Rise and Barnsley Hall on December 21 and at Morrisons from 9am on December 23 and at Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club from 5pm on the same day.

Raising cash for good causes

Weekday evening routes start at 6pm with the weekend ones at 4pm. Times may vary depending on the weather and collections will be made for local good causes, including The Basement Project, Sidemoor Community Project and Re-Engage.
