Renowned folk artist Cara Dillon brings 'Upon a Winter's Night' to Bromsgrove's Artrix

RENOWNED folk performer Cara Dillon brings her touring Christmas show ‘Upon A Winter’s Night’ to Bromsgrove’s Artrix on Sunday, December 8.

Cara and her band will be capturing the mystery of Christmas with a collection of songs ancient and modern, taking the ‘commercialism’ out of the festive season.

Far from Jingle Bells and Santa Baby Cara and her band weave celtic and folksy rhythms alongside reverent and atmospheric carols.

They are billed as being ‘as modest and down to earth as they come’.

Cara said she was taken aback by the success of her acclaimed Christmas album Upon A Winter’s Night which reached number one twice in the Indie Album Charts following its release in 2016.

She shows another side to Christmas from the Bing crooning and Noddy screaming and the story of Jesus’ birth is retold with genuine wonder and celebrated with dignity, passion and beauty.

Christmas is one of Cara’s passions and her live show proves it.

Despite a varied career from folk crossover albums on indie label to working on Disney soundtracks and collaborations with leading UK dance DJs and producers, Cara has firmly planted herself in the landscape of her cultural heritage.

She occupies a position at the very top of the Irish Folk genre and has captivated audiences, won awards and achieved exceptional acclaim for over 20 years.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets, at £23.50, are available at or by calling 01527 577330.
