THERE is less than a week remaining for community groups and voluntary organisations to apply for the council’s small grants scheme.
Bromsgrove District Council’s Equality Small Grants Scheme is offering funding for activities which benefit the community, challenge inequality and celebrate diversity.
The grants are designed to support smaller voluntary, charitable, or community groups who the council feel can often find it difficut to meet eligibility criteria for larger grants.
Applicants have until Midday on April 9 to make their bid. Shortlisting of applicants will be carried out during April and May, ahead of the arrival of funds from June 1.
This is the fifth year of the Equality Small Grants scheme. This round of funding can be used to support projects and activities scheduled to be delivered in the financial year 2024/25 up until March 31, 2025.
A £10,000 budget has been made available for this year’s Small Grants Scheme. Each project or activity is eligible for up to £1,000 in grant funding.
The Policy Team at Bromsgrove District Council said: “We are encouraging all local organisations to look at the eligibility criteria of the scheme to see if they have a project that could benefit from the funding.”
“In previous years we’ve seen projects that have helped support older people, young people, men, women, people with a disability, members of the LGBT community, and different race and religious groups.
“We look forward to seeing the ideas for projects which are submitted this year.”
