RESIDENTS can remember a lost love one through the Primrose Hospice’s latest fund-raising scheme, writes Rebekah Lane.
A brand new hand-sculpted memory tree has been unveiled in the charity’s peaceful garden.
The memory tree allows those who have experienced the death of a loved one to commemorate their life in a long-lasting way by placing an inscribed metal leaf on the tree for a donation of £100.
The Primrose Hospice is an independent charity which offers free healthcare, advice and support to patients living with life limiting illnesses and families.
A £100 donation could provide a child with six one-to-one sessions with the hospice’s family support team, providing them with the coping mechanisms to prevent them from feeling isolated and alone when faced with bereavement.
Honouring loved ones through the memory tree ensures the Primrose Hospice can continue its vital work caring for patients and families when they need it most.
Ray Carver, a long-standing volunteer of the hospice family who has leaves on the tree for his late wife and daughter-in-law, said: “I’m so pleased the new memory tree is now in the primrose garden.
“It allows you to remember your loved one in a calming and welcoming environment.”
