REFORM UK have announced their candidate for the upcoming Worcestershire County Council Bromsgrove South by-election.
Philip Hingley is standing in the poll on October 30 which was triggered when Reform UK’s councillor Gaynor Jean-Louis resigned due to ill health.
Mr Hingley said he had leadership experience, a business background and an unwavering drive for improvement.
The by-election presented a ‘real opportunity for change’, he added.
“Voters deserve an experienced leader who can bring clear direction and strategy,” he said.
“What we don’t need are more ‘uniparty’ politicians, career candidates who promise the world, hop between parties, and ultimately deliver nothing.
“In this campaign, you will rightly hear much about two issues of immediate concern – protecting our precious green belt from inappropriate development and finally delivering the long-awaited improvements to the A38.
“These are pressing priorities, and I will continue to champion them.”
Mr Hingley added it was ‘time to think bigger’ as communities faced difficult financial challenges.
“Reform UK is committed to listening to residents, identifying their real priorities and setting out a long-term vision for growth and prosperity,” he said.
“That means promoting a strategy for enterprise, supporting local businesses, and creating the right environment for talent and innovation to thrive.
“We all share a responsibility to provide a better and safer environment for our families and our children.
“That can only be achieved by working together with honesty, purpose, and determination.
“With your support, I will ensure our community’s voice is not just heard, but acted upon.”
Also standing in Bromsgrove South is current Bromsgrove District Councillor Sam Ammar (Liberal Democrats), former Redditch Borough Council leader and current borough councillor Matt Dormer (Conservatives) and Laura Rollins (Labour).
