Rallying call for theatre groups, artists and others to make use of Bromsgrove's Artrix

THE GROUP running Artrix has issued a rallying call to Bromsgrove community groups, businesses, theatre groups, artists and more to come forward and make the centre their new home.

The venue will have theatre and arts space available for private hire from April and Bromsgrove Community Arts wants to see the venue continue to thrive once The Core theatre no longer needs it.

Since reopening as an arts centre in November 2023 the much-loved venue has seen sell out shows ranging from comedy nights, tribute bands, pantomimes, and musicals.

The venue will be available for hire to enable local organisations and touring groups to put on their own productions or use the space for meetings, exhibitions or other events, such as corporate activities, meetings, rehearsal space and much more.

Artrix’s main auditorium can seat up to 300 guests – 260 seats theatre style plus seating in the side galleries.

The layout can be adapted for a mix of seating and standing – 200 on a flat floor with 105 seats in the upper balcony and galleries.

The studio is a versatile, mixed purpose space providing performance, dance rehearsal and meeting facilities.

There are dance mirrors and a barre along one wall.

As a theatre, it can accommodate raked seating for 60 guests and with flat floor use it can accommodate 90 seats with a small stage area or with tables for a conference layout.

In addition, there are dressing rooms and three flexible rooms which can be used as dressing rooms, meeting rooms or office spaces.

The spacious foyer with bar welcomes visitors to Artrix. The bar can be staffed by volunteers for performances who serve hot and cold soft and alcoholic drinks, snacks and ice creams.

And the foyer is also available to hire independently if no performances are taking place.

The venue is fully accessible with wheelchair access to all spaces.

Room hire costs vary across the available spaces, and discounts can be achieved for long term bookings and multiple space hires.

To support the local community there are special rates available for local community charity and not for profit groups.

The team at Bromsgrove Community Arts said they would be happy to discuss groups’ needs and find a solution at the venue to suit their requirements.
