Put your pet in the frame and donate to help out Bromsgrove Blue Cross

PET OWNERS across Bromsgrove and beyond are being urged to get snap happy with their furry friends and help the Blue Cross which has been forced to cancel its annual summer fete.

The event, which usually raises around £10,000, was due to take place tomorrow but fell victim to the Covid-19 pandemic.

People often bring their Blue Cross rescued dogs to the event so staff can catch up with them and find out how they are doing.

Instead the charity is appealing to people to post their pictures of them and their animals, share memories of their pets and make a donation to the cause.

Laura Coveney, rehoming supervisor at Blue Cross Bromsgrove, said: “We are very sad we cannot hold our annual summer fete this year and will miss seeing all our supporters and their dogs who come along to take part in activities.

“The event is our biggest and as well as enjoying seeing some old friends we usually raise around £10,000 from generous animal lovers coming along.”

Donors should post their pictures on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, along with the hashtag #BlueCrossFete
