A PUBLIC meeting will be held to discuss the threat to Hagley Library amidst Worcestershire County Council spending cuts.

The get-together will take place at 6.30am on Wednesday, February 13, at Hagley Primary School, Park Road.

It will be chaired by Coun Steve Colella and Worcestershire County Council’s portfolio holder for Library Services will be on hand to answer questions about the situation.

Hagley Parish Council’s lead councillor for libraries Austin will also be seeking public support for Hagley Parish to take over responsibility and running of the library.

The proposed cuts by county is the latest measure to tackle the authority’s financial deficit.

Worcestershire County Council’s library consultation deadline has been extended until February 28.

People can have their say on the library consultation by visiting http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/libraries or by going into their local library.
