'Protect yourself and others this Christmas' - Message from Bromsgrove District Council leader

Bromsgrove Editorial 23rd Dec, 2021   0

UNFORTUNATELY as Covid cases continue to raise my first message has to emphasise the importance of protecting each other so please do take up the vaccine opportunities which are on offer across the district in the run up to and beyond Christmas Day.

As always please bear in mind those people who may be spending the festive season alone, particularly this year when trips to see friends and family across the country may be curtailed.

Despite being where we are with the pandemic, I am pleased the year has been punctuated with some highlights not least the £14.5million secured to regenerate the former market site/Windsor street areas, £20,000 investment in the cultural sector across North East Worcestershire and the events and activities enjoyed by residents thanks to the Welcome Back Fund which will continue into the new year.

Work has also started on the energy efficient homes on the Burcot Lane site which will see 61 new low carbon homes in 2022 and 12 of these will be for social housing.

Although we are in uncertain times, I am confident this council will be entering the new year with lots of successes to build on and I look forward to creating more successes to benefit everyone.

Please stay safe this Christmas, enjoy loved ones and I wish you all the best for the New Year and times ahead.
