Primrose Hospice treecycle scheme raises nearly £15,000

AN IMPRESSIVE £14,817 was raised by the Primrose Hospice’s Christmas tree recycle scheme.

During the first weekend on January, the charity’s team collected 878 festive firs in total which were kindly chipped by Treemendus Tree Services Ltd and will be recycled.

Primrose fundraiser and treecycle organiser Lucy Perkins said she was delighted with the success of this year’s campaign.

“The increased number of trees to collect, combined with the fantastic amount of money raised made it more fun and a great challenge.

“A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who gave it their all as they always do.”

Lucy also thanked all the businesses which came together to make Treecycle such a success, including sponsors Bumble Hole Foods.

“And of course a big thank you to everyone who booked to have their tree collected by Primrose this year – your donation really does make a difference.

“Here’s hoping next year will be bigger and better still.”

Anyone wanting to get involved with Treecycle 2025 should call Lucy on 01527 889796 to find out more.

The Primrose Hospice and Family Support Centre saw an increase in referrals throughout 2023, meaning they need to raise more donations to continue providing care and support to those who need them.

The donations raised through this event will help the hospice care for people living with life-limiting illnesses and families in the area.
