THE ORGANISERS of this year’s Pride Of Longbridge Rally have been forced to cancel this year’s event because of weeks of poor weather.
The decision follows an inspection of Cofton Park which was deemed to be too waterlogged to hold the event.
The popular annual event was due to take place next Saturday, April 13, and usually attract hundreds of enthusiasts from all over the world, along with former employees.
POL organiser Gemma Cartwright MBE said: “The park is the worst it has been for 12 years so sadly POL 24 is cancelled.
“We have tried to source a space on the redevelopment but sadly there is water there as well – POL team is sad for this to happen this year.
“The Parks Department also stated it had to cancel an event in August of last year due to the weather.”

Gemma added: “It was not an easy decision to make and one that would not be called if not necessary.”
And she warned anyone still planning to meet would not be covered under POL insurance.
