POWER CUT - Bromsgrove and Rubery suffer fourth power cut in three months as hundreds are left without electricity

HUNDREDS of homes across Bromsgrove and Rubery were left without electricity as the areas suffered their fourth power cut in just three months.

The areas with the postcodes B45, B60 and B61 were affected but, National Grid said, all properties should have now had their supplies restored.

This latest one comes amidst high winds and heavy rain and National Grid did warn that there could be power outages.

It comes just a fortnight after the last one caused by Storm Darragh – on that occasion more than 2,000 homes were left without electricity.

Ten days before that – on November 27 – around 6,000 homes in  Rubery, Rednal, Barnt Green, Cofton Hackett and parts of Bromsgrove, including Marlbrook and Catshill, had power cuts for hours.

And back on October 15 there was the biggest electricity outage – on that occasion, more than 8,500 properties were left without power.
