Popular Bromsgrove tapas restaurant forced to close after fire

A POPULAR Bromsgrove tapas restaurant had had to close this evening because of a fire there.

Casa Med posted the news on social media, adding it was fortunate the blaze was ‘confined to the kitchen and had not affected the rest of our restaurant’.

The statement from Courtney, Cat and Mark added: “We want to say a massive thank you to the fire brigade for an incredible job of containing and putting out the fire so quickly before it could spread.”

They also thanked the local community for contacting the restaurant and for everyone’s heartfelt messages.

“We are extremely grateful.”

A clean-up operation is now under way and management and staff hope to have the eatery back open by tomorrow.

The message concluded with: “We will see you soon.”

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said two crews – one each from Bromsgrove and Redditch – attended the blaze around 7.45am this morning and extinguished the blaze.
