THE PROGRAMME of live brass band concerts gets under way at Bromsgrove’s Sanders Park this Sunday, May 29, writes Lucy Kesseler.
The free shows – every Sunday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm – will take place at the Jubilee Bandstand which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
Many acts will play, varying in genre and decade of music.
The performance will be kicked off by Brass Beats who will return on August 14 for a second show when a free day of fun will also take place from 12pm.
Other artists performing between now and the end of June include City of Coventry Brass Band, Stour Concert and Brass and The Last Note during the month of June.
July will be bustling as AD Concert Band and many others will present family friendly jazz.
The final concerts in August and September will include talented singers Charlie Thompson and Stephan Law, Alcester Victoria Silver Band, Arrow Valley Brass Band and Worcester Concert Brass.
The council’s leisure portfolio holder Coun Michael Thompson said: “There is a great line-up of bands, and this year is no different, what talent.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics and chairs while enjoying the wide range of entertainment.
Events may be postponed due to unfavorable weather or Covid-19 restrictions.
