THE CROWDS braved the rain and came out for this year’s annual Rubery Festival on Sunday.

The event began with a parade from Legion Way to St Chad’s Park where there was a live music stage and arena, along with 30 stalls from charities and community groups.

Attendees were entertained by an array of singers, including Jasmine Nicholson, Stephen Law, Scott Smith Cartwright, Michelle Black, Charlie Thompson as Elsa from Frozen and many more.

And there were dance performances from Excells Dance and other groups, children’s rides, a bouncy castle, face painting, vintage vehicles, classic cars and more.

Organiser Tony Maslen thanked everyone who supported the event including the helpers, those who went along, the singers, dance groups, food vendors, stallholders.

“It was a very wet day but the show must go on – and it certainly did,” he added.
