AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after Waseley Hills Crematorium was vandalised.
Crematorium staff received a call from a family on Sunday, May 10, saying that numerous memorials within the cemetery had been vandalised.
Shocked staff at the New Inns Lane crematorium later confirmed the news of the vandalism on Facebook.
A statement said that while no headstones had been damaged, some graves with statues, lights and flowers were criminally damaged.
The statement added: “We have done our best to rectify the issues and clean up the cemetery.
“This matter has been reported to the police, and an incident has been logged.”
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “We received a report on Sunday, May 10, of criminal damage at Waseley Hills Crematorium, on New Inns Lane.
“An investigation is ongoing.”
