Officers believe the two incidents may be linked.

The first, on Monday, happened between 8.30pm and 8.45pm on a footpath behind Moon’s Moat First School.

The victim was approached from behind by three men and hit with an object, believed to be a baseball bat, knocking him unconscious.

The suspects then stole a vape and left the scene, but it is not known in which direction they went.

The trio were all men and all were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.
