POLICE are investigating an incident in Northfield this morning when a man was found injured in the street.
It happened around 9am.
The Standard was contacted by concerned residents who reported seeing several police cars and two ambulances.
A triangular area of Rhyader Road, at the junction of The Holloway was also cordoned off.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We were called to Merritts Brook Lane in Northfield just before 9am this morning to reports of an injured man in the street.
“The man was taken to hospital to be checked over.
“He has since been detained under the Mental Health Act.”
