AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a body was found in Bromsgrove at 6.45am this morning.
Police said they were treating the discovery of the 46-year-old as suspicious and believe it to be Susan Kariuki from the town.
She was found in the garden at the back of a shop on Broad Street and Ms Kariuki’s next of kin has been informed.
Police have urged anyone with any information on her whereabouts between 3pm yesterday (Monday) and 6.45am today to get in touch.
Det Insp Gerry Smith said: “We have launched a thorough enquiry to establish how this lady died and are appealing for anyone with any information to get in touch with us. Any details no matter how small may be vital to our investigation.”
Bromsgrove Police has stepped up its presence in the area and a post-mortem is due to be carried out.
Officers are supporting her next of kin.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: “We were called to Broad Street at 6.48am this morning to reports of a patient in cardiac arrest.
“Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
“On arrival we discovered a woman in cardiac arrest.
“Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”
