Police issue warning to drivers after taking two illegal motorists off the road in Rubery

Bromsgrove Editorial 30th Mar, 2020   0

THE POLICE have warned drivers that, despite the coronavirus crisis, officers would still be taking illegal motorists and vehicles off the road.

It follows two stops in Rubery last night where drivers had flouted the law.

One driver, who was disqualified, was caught in a car which had no insurance or tax and an expired MoT.

Officers from Worcestershire Operational Policing Unit said: “Just because of COVID-19 and keeping everybody safe is our main priority, don’t think it’s OK to drive whilst disqualified for a non-essential journey.

“We will still deal with you.”

A cloned vehicle was also stopped in the village around the same time with OPU officers advising people: “If you can’t afford insurance, don’t drive.”
