WEST Midlands Police have issued a warning after a spate of thefts of Ford cars on the Great Park in Rubery.
The force said neighbourhood policing teams had been briefed and were conducting patrols in the area while central teams continued to investigate the reported thefts.
Owners of a number of models, such as Fiestas, Focuses and Kugas, have reported thefts of their vehicles on social media and neighbourhood pages over the weekend and in the last week.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We are aware of concerns regarding vehicle crime around Great Park.
“We will always look to act on intelligence we receive. If you have information on car crime, please get in touch.”
Tips for vehicle owners
Officers have issued advice for car and van owners.
They suggest motorists park in a well-lit area, ideally covered by CCTV and registered with a Park Mark scheme. Visit https://parkmark.co.uk for more.
Cars should be locked and alarms set – drivers should check to ensure it has been done properly.
Motorists should use all security devices available to them, such as steering wheel locks and locking wheel nuts.
People can also speak to their local dealership about settings and security upgrades.
