Police hunting attacker after stabbing in Rubery this morning

POLICE are hunting a teenager who carried out a stabbing in New Road, Rubery, at 10.30am this morning.

The incident, which saw another teenager stabbed in the back, happened under the flyover in New Road.

A group of six people apporached the 17-year-old victim and one stabbed him before the group fled towards the McDonald’s on Bristol Road South in Longbridge.

The victim was then taken by ambulance to hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.




The attacker was white, aged around 17, of skinny build, with blonde or brown hair. He was wearing dark blue jeans.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson confirmed an ambulance, paramedic officer and the West Midlands Care Team were sent to the scene.


The investigation is at an early stage and officers want anyone who witnessed the attack or who has any information to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
