A MASKED man stole cash from a restaurant in Aston Fields during a burglary last week.

The incident took place between 3.45am and 4.15am last Wednesday (June 20) at Banner Foods on Finstall Road.

It is believed the offender gained entry through the veranda roof.

The man was described as white, about 5ft 11ins tall and of medium build.

CCTV footage appeared to show the man wearing a scarf or mask across his face and was believed to have been wearing a rucksack.

Investigating officers are following a number of lines of enquiry to attain the suspect and would especially like to hear from the driver of a small white van which was seen in the area at about 4am.

The vehicle was travelling from the Finstall area towards the traffic island in Aston Fields.

PC Matthew Hunt, of West Mercia Police, said: “We would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time who saw anyone acting suspiciously around the time of the incident at Banners Food.

“I would also urge anyone who knows who is responsible to come forward.

“You can speak to the police directly or remain anonymous by contacting Crimestoppers.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 0089S of June 20.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or use their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
