AN APPEAL has been launched after a cyclist was found lying in the road in Frankley yesterday (Thursday).
Around 4.05pm paramedics spotted the 76-year-old, who was wearing a white helmet and had a black and white bike next to him, on New Street, at the junction of Arden Road.
He had suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Det Sgt Paul Hughes, from West Midlands Police serious collision investigation unit, said: “At this stage we are keeping an open mind as to how this gentleman sustained his injuries.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area around 4pm, in particular anyone who might have dash-cam footage, please get in touch.”
The Standard was contacted by several residents concerned about New Street and Arden Road being cordoned off and a large police presence in the area.
Anyone with information is asked to get in touch via 101, quoting log number 3048 of 30 August, or email SCIU – [email protected].
