A SERIES of personal safety events are set to be hosted in Bromsgrove to teach residents about keeping themselves and their belongings safe.
West Mercia Police will join Bromsgrove District Council’s community safety team to host sessions giving residents the knowledge they need to better protect their personal items and ensure their own safety.
The first event will take from 11am to 3pm in Bromsgrove town centre on September 14 and the other will take place at the same time at Rubery High Street on September 28.
Bromsgrove District Council’s community safety projects officer, David, said: “The Safer Bromsgrove Partnership are proud to be championing these events, knowing how to keep yourself and your belongings safe is incredibly important.
“We are delighted to be joined by wonderful partners to make these events as informative and engaging as we can for the residents of Bromsgrove.”
Organisation, Spike Bikes, will also be at the event providing MOTs for bikes along information on how to keep them safe.
Cabinet member for community safety, councillor Peter Whittaker, said: “Events like these continue to be important, giving residents the chance to speak to those in their communities who work tirelessly to ensure Bromsgrove is a safe and enjoyable place to live.
“I welcome opportunities to bring together the community and community providers to gather in the same space behind a cause: everyone feeling and being safer.”
The event team will also be joined by Fair Play Comedy, a street theatre company. Actors from the company will be engaging members of the public through the delivery of street theatre.
