A POIGNANT poppy display has been created by members of Wychbold Royal British Legion.

With the new recyclable paper ones being introduced, the group repurposed the left over plastic ones.

Carry Smart, the Wychbold RBL secretary, said: “We have talked about a way to make the social club – where we meet up on November 11 – more visible to people.

“And with so many plastic poppies – that would’ve had to go to landfill – it seemed like the ideal solution.

“I want to give Graham Smart a special mention for all his hard work putting it together and we’ll be able to use it for many years to come.”

Wychbold RBL will meet at the social club for a service and wreath-laying just before 11am tomorrow (Saturday, November 11).

On Remembrance Sunday, the group will be at the Lych Gate at Wychbold Church from 9.15am for a dedication of a plaque and then at the service at Hanbury Church for 11am.
