THE HALF-TERM fun starts today (Friday) with a bear-themed Treasure Hunt across all Worcestershire libraries running between now and February 28.

All participants who borrow three books and take part in the hunt which has a number of activities along the way will be entered into a prize draw to win a book and the will be drawn by Giles Trigg, the local author who wrote ‘Scruff the Pooch’.

There are ‘Lego in the Library’ challenges happening at Bromsgrove, Catshill and Droitwich libraries, with a superhero theme while Hagley Library will be helping youngsters get crafty with ‘Make a Jolly Giraffe’.

Coun Matt Dormer, Cabinet Member with Responsibilities for Communities, said: “We all recognise the importance of introducing children to the joy of reading at an early age and our libraries are a great place to do this.

“The library staff have pulled out all the stops this half-term to come up with so many fun themed activities that encourage creativity, inspire the imagination and help develop reading skills across all ages.

“So, there’s no need for boredom this school holiday, simply head down to your local library where you’ll find lots to keep your young ones entertained, whatever the weather throws at us this February!”

People should visit their local library or worcestershire.gov.uk/libraries for more.
