Plenty of fun as Frankley Family Forum organises a trip to the seaside

FAMIIES and individuals from Frankley enjoyed a great day out to Weston-Super-Mare over the weekend.

The trip was organised by Frankley Family Forum to bring the community back together after the tumultuous 16 months brought on by the pandemic.

The emphasis of the outing was placed on everyone spending time and making new memories.

During the trip there was of course the obligatory trip to the beach, a wander down the pier and some ice cream to cool off in the sweltering summer heat.

One family said they had missed some out on so much and this had been their first time out in over a year, which really helped them bond and improved their mental health.

They praised the organisation of it and said they were looking forward to the next activities.

Frankley Family Forum Chair Tammy Clayton said: “We asked the community what they would like to do and trips was one of the ideas.

“Throughout the six-week holidays we have organised sport sessions weekly in Frankley MUGA (multi-use games area) for young people , other trips and our carers support group.”

Gemma Cartwright MBE said: “I am so proud to be part of the forum and to help make the Weston trip happen.

“It’s the first step in starting to rebuild our community after the pandemic and great to see so many people having fun together.”
