Plenty of festive fun at Christmas Market at Northfield's Victoria School

A CHRISTMAS Market took place at Northfield’s Victoria School this week.

The event, now in its 17th year, ran from Tuesday to Friday.

Stalls have been staffed by ‘volunteer elves’, including parents, governors and Friends of Victoria.

It originally started with a budget of £250 but now the organisers purchase more than £4,000 worth of stock to wrap and sell. The event makes no profit and just strives to break even.

Students, aged from two to 19, visit with their teachers and bring money to buy presents – which this year, are £2 each – for family and, sometimes, themselves.

One mum Nadine said her son Lincoln, 14, starts talking about the Christmas Market in November.

“He gets very excited about his shopping, he enjoys choosing and loves giving out the gifts on Christmas morning.”

The staff and students all love the market which receives rave reviews every year.
