RESIDENTS flocked to the ‘Illuminating Autumn’ lights trail in Bromsgrove’s Sanders Park last Thursday and Friday.
The event, around the park’s pathways, was organised by Bromsgrove District Council and also boasted a variety of entertainment and food stalls.
Visitors could also participate in a lantern walk by Moths at Work by taking along their own light for the night.
The lights trail was introduced as an alternative to the traditional bonfire and fireworks with the council championing it as saving on costs, security and being more environmentally friendly.
Bromsgrove District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Leisure Services, Coun Michael Thompson, said: “We had some really good feedback from this year’s event.
“Many people clearly enjoy seeing the park in a different light, if you’ll excuse the pun, not to mention joining in with the roaming disco from moths at work this year.
“This is the second time we’ve offered this kind of more inclusive, more affordable, more environmentally-friendly event in the park at this time of year and it’s good to see it’s a hit with residents and visitors.”
